Dr. Maya Libben has extensive training in clinical psychology and specializes in individual psychotherapy and neuropsychological assessment of adults.  Dr. Libben completed her Ph.D. at McGill University and received her postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School.  She is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychology at UBC Okanagan.

Dr. Libben’s areas of clinical expertise include anxiety, depression and eating disorders.  She also provides treatment to individuals recovering from post-concussion syndrome and traumatic brain injury.  Her strengths-based and interactive approach to psychotherapy draws from a variety of theoretical perspectives, including interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, and recovery-oriented models.  Dr. Libben works collaboratively with her clients to develop an integrated approach to treatment that is tailored to the particular life goals and interests of her clients.

In addition to her therapeutic practice, Dr. Libben provides neuropsychological assessments for individuals with neurological, medical, and psychological conditions that affect cognition and impact functioning.  She strives to conduct assessments that are personalized and comprehensive, focusing on specific cognitive aspects that are relevant to the client.  Dr. Libben provides neuropsychological assessment services privately, and also accepts referrals from attorneys, medical professionals, insurance companies and other agencies that may be seeking an independent expert opinion with regard to the neuropsychological functioning of their clients.
