Trixie Hennessey uses an integrative approach rooted in interpersonal neurobiology, narrative therapy, emotion focused family therapy, mindfulness based practice and attachment theory.  She follows a holistic and relational approach to address the psychological, biological, social, and spiritual factors that contribute to the development and maintenance of eating disorders, relationship challenges, and mental health issues. 

By providing a safe and empathetic therapeutic environment, Trixie supports clients in examining their interpersonal relationships and addressing maladaptive coping skills. Over time her clients build healthy relationships with others, have a stronger sense of self, and gain the skills they are seeking to create productive, meaningful lives. 

Trixie has considerable experience supporting clients and their families with disordered eating.  She has worked extensively with families where separation is occurring.  She is an experienced Emotion Focused family therapist.  She counsels people of all ages with grief and loss issues.  She works with individuals with addictions and utilizes a variety of strategies included integrated team approaches.  Trixie has dealt with mild adaptation issues to serious, self-harm and does so with a kind, non-judgemental, and respectful interaction that makes her approachable and trustworthy.

Trixie completed her Masters of Social Work degree at the University of British Columbia- Okanagan.  She is registered under the British Columbia College of Social Workers (#10016).
