Dr. Delaine Shackleton obtained her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology in March 2021 from the University of Regina, SK. She completed her pre-doctoral residency training in Waterloo, ON, and has worked in assessment and treatment settings in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. Dr. Shackleton is fully registered with the BC College of Psychologists.

Dr. Delaine Shackleton primarily works with adults and adolescents (15 and older). Her theoretical approach to assessment and intervention is evidence-based and an integrative approach that heavily draws upon cognitive-behavioural theory and the biopsychosocial model of mental health. Her interest in the mind-body-behaviour relationship has developed into an overarching and holistic biopsychosocial approach to the provision of health services. She provides a range of assessments, including for clinical diagnoses, neuropsychological investigations, and psychoeducational assessments.


Her clinical services include treatment for:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Bereavement
  • Sleep disorders
  • Self-esteem and self-worth challenges (e.g., body image concerns)
  • Trauma and abuse, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (specific to first responders including RCMP)
  • Sensitivity to and validation regarding issues of diversity and multiculturalism
  • Disordered eating
  • Substance abuse and dependency
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, intellectual disabilities, learning disorders)
