Dr. Heidt is actively accepting new clients and offering both in-person and remote sessions. New Client intakes are currently being scheduled in 2-3 weeks.

 

Dr. Constance Heidt obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Saskatchewan where she received training and clinical experience with various populations across several settings. She completed her predoctoral residency through the Saskatchewan Health Authority in both Saskatoon and Prince Albert focused on individual and group psychotherapy with children and adults and assessment with adolescents and adults in both urban and more northern communities. Dr. Heidt began her career in Saskatchewan providing in-person and virtual assessment, treatment, and consultation services to children, adolescents, parents, and adults from across the province in urban, rural, and northern settings.

Dr. Heidt uses a collaborative approach to provide service to clients that focuses on their individual needs and cultural preferences while ensuring the treatment and techniques are proven effective with the presenting concern. She understands the importance of the therapeutic relationship and strives to ensure that her clients feel heard and understood. Dr. Heidt uses an integrative approach including cognitive-behavioural, acceptance and commitment, behavioural, insight-focused therapies, and collaborative problem-solving approach.

Dr. Heidt provides a range of assessment and intervention services with children, adolescents, parents/caregivers, and adults. Areas of practice include:

  • Anxiety disorders and phobias
  • Depression or low mood
  • Trauma
  • Adjusting to and managing physical health conditions (e.g., chronic daily headaches, diabetes distress, chronic pain, medication non-compliance)
  • Somatic symptoms (e.g., pain, unexplained weakness or dizziness, psychogenic non-epileptic seizures)
  • Elimination disorders (enuresis and encopresis)
  • Neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., intellectual disabilities, ADHD)
  • Behavioural and emotional regulation challenges (e.g., oppositionality, defiance, aggression)
  • Body-focused repetitive behaviors

**Please note that as Dr. Heidt is newly registered, We only have ability to direct bill to Pacific Blue Cross at this time. We are actively working to register her as a direct billing provider for multiple insurance companies. This website will be updated as soon as she is registered as a direct billing provider. Insurance companies will still provide reimbursement to plan member for treatment with Dr. Heidt so long as your specified coverage indicates treatment with a Registered Psychologist is covered.**
