Dr. Constance Heidt obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Saskatchewan where she received training and clinical experience with various populations across several settings. She completed her predoctoral residency through the Saskatchewan Health Authority in both Saskatoon and Prince Albert focused on individual and group psychotherapy with children and adults and assessment with adolescents and adults in both urban and more northern communities. Dr. Heidt began her career in Saskatchewan providing in-person and virtual assessment, treatment, and consultation services to children, adolescents, parents, and adults from across the province in urban, rural, and northern settings.

Dr. Heidt uses a collaborative approach to provide service to clients that focuses on their individual needs and cultural preferences while ensuring the treatment and techniques are proven effective with the presenting concern. She understands the importance of the therapeutic relationship and strives to ensure that her clients feel heard and understood. Dr. Heidt uses an integrative approach including cognitive-behavioural, acceptance and commitment, behavioural, insight-focused therapies, and collaborative problem-solving approach.

Dr. Heidt provides a range of assessment and intervention services with children, adolescents, parents/caregivers, and adults. Areas of practice include:

  • Anxiety disorders and phobias
  • Depression or low mood
  • Trauma
  • Adjusting to and managing physical health conditions (e.g., chronic daily headaches, diabetes distress, chronic pain, medication non-compliance)
  • Somatic symptoms (e.g., pain, unexplained weakness or dizziness, psychogenic non-epileptic seizures)
  • Elimination disorders (enuresis and encopresis)
  • Neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., intellectual disabilities, ADHD)
  • Behavioural and emotional regulation challenges (e.g., oppositionality, defiance, aggression)
  • Body-focused repetitive behaviors


**Please note that Dr. Heidt is NOT currently a Registered Psychologist in BC. Until the transfer of her registration from Saskatchewan to BC has been completed, she is considered a Transfer Applicant and her practice is supervised by Dr. Heather McEachern (R. Psych #1175). As a Transfer Applicant it's important to check with your insurance coverage to ensure that treatment with Dr. Heidt will be reimbursed to you. Some insurance plans will only cover treatment with a Registered Psychologist treating in the province of their registration and will not cover those with a supervised practice.**
